Met Office warns of heavy rain

The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning of heavy rain in Exeter and East Devon from Friday evening into Saturday.

20-30mm of rain is expected along with winds of 40-50mph

The warning is in place from 10pm on Friday 13 January until 12 noon on Saturday 14 January.

There is a possibility of localised flooding in some low-lying areas, particularly as the ground is already saturated following recent heavy rainfall.

Road users should take extra care and drivers should slow down, give themselves more time to react and give other road users more space.

People are advised to check the forecast before they travel.

Follow Devon Alert for regular updates on Devon's roads from the Network Control Centre.

If anyone spots a problem on the roads, such as a fallen tree or faulty traffic lights, they can report it on Devon County Council's website
