    A Celebration of Sidmouth Folk Festival 30th July – 6th August 2021 The Festival organisers are thrilled to announce that Sidmouth Folk Festival will return to Sidmouth this year with a celebratory event primarily based in the heart of the town at Blackmore Gardens with Open Air evening concerts and all-day entertainment. The Ham remains a great place to eat, drink and socialise. It feels like proper summer! With the sun shining and outdoor living in mind, it’s a great time to look forward to a great Celebration of Sidmouth Folk Festival both live and Online.

      Exmouth’s Manor Lodge Residential Home recently donated £1,000 to the local lifesavers in lieu of their annual Garden Party fundraiser, cancelled due to the Coronavirus restrictions. The well respected residential home, owned and managed by Ray and Gina Lovegrove, are stalwart supporters of Exmouth RNLI and, until the recent Coronavirus outbreak, have held annual Garden Parties at the home to raise funds for the charity.

      The donkeys at The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth cooling off with an ice block treat. Not only does this help to keep them cool in the sweltering heat, it also provides valuable enrichment. The donkey ‘ice lolly’, made from fruit and vegetables in water, provide a healthy treat for The Donkey Sanctuary’s resident herds to cool down during these sizzling summer temperatures.

      The heat of the summer months coupled with wearing level 3 PPE provides an additional challenge for our crews, who are already facing the busiest summer yet in 2021. With the country's Covid restrictions lifted and with many more people out and about keen to enjoy the outdoors and associated activities, summer 2021 continues to be the busiest summer yet for Devon Air Ambulance crews.

      Devon & Cornwall Police are reminding people that might need non-emergency help and advice over the summer months to consider using their online contact channels whenever possible. The timely reminder comes at the start of the summer school holidays as it is expected the number of people visiting and staying in Devon and Cornwall over the next few months will increase significantly and therefore the number of people needing to contact the police may also rise. Last week, the force received around 24,000 telephone calls or digital contacts into 999 Emergency and 101 Non-Emergency.

      Exmouth RNLI have recently updated their Lifeboat Station Visits criteria to advise schools that they can now book guided visits to the station and are looking for volunteers to fill a number of Visits Guides vacancies. With a gradual return to normal life Exmouth Lifeboat Station is keen to advise schools that now is the time to book a visit to the Station for the summer term 2022.

      Organisers of The Sidmouth Folk Festival aim to put on a week of music, dance and family entertainment this summer. Billed as A Celebration of Sidmouth Folk Festival, the event from July 30 until August 6, will be an ‘authentic taste’ of the traditional event. John Braithwaite, festival director, said: “We are looking forward to this special celebration, as we thank everyone who helped the festival survive last year’s cancellation and to secure its future.
